Can anyone help me understand?

So sorry it is indeed breast cancer. It’s good you have already started getting your head around it and preparing for the journey to come. It sounds like you’re in great hands.

I am just a couple of weeks ahead of you (diagnosed 25/7, had MRI 4/8, currently awaiting MRI & HER2 results then they’ll confirm treatment plan & surgery date). Waiting for results/treatment plan is harder, the uncertainty is so so hard. Everyone on this forum says this is the hardest bit, and that gives me some comfort (that it won’t always feel this hard), and I hope will to you too.

Some days I feel fine and can keep busy, other days I cannot concentrate on anything and feel tearful and low, even though I know I’m one of the lucky ones as mine is grade 1. It’s just the uncertainty that is so hard to deal with. Once I have a treatment plan I can focus on that and next steps. Right now I just feel in limbo.

I mention this not to sound gloomy or alarm you but just to prepare you that you may also find the next couple of weeks hard as you wait for your results. I’ve found this forum so helpful in that time, and am trying to allow myself to do whatever I need to do each day to get through.

I wish you the very best, take care of yourself and reach out any time xx
