Hi @bellbert @sassy3 @dianne3 - I am pleased to hear that my positivity helps. I recently did the Predict tool as I finally had the nerve to find out what my chances of recurrence are. To my delight and surprise, the stats were absolutely excellent after the treatment I have been lucky enough to receive. It’s so heartening that I feel there is lots to be positive about. It’s extremely hard to have this mindset at the start of the journey so from where I am standing now, I hope that it can help you to believe that you will get to this point too.
@rainbowbrite10 - I am so sorry that you are being put through such a torturous wait. I know somebody else who had her pathology sent to America so the wait took a horrendous amount of time and she was feeling the same way as you. I took the liberty of asking my oncologist if this was right or even fair. His response was that it was more important that they knew the exact state of play and got the treatment right and that at this stage a few more weeks would not change the outcome. It didn’t stop my friend from going through more torment in the meantime but ultimately it was decided that she didn’t need any more treatment and that they were satisfied everything was gone. Unfortunately we are very much at the mercy of how quickly our individual health trusts process lab results and obviously even send them across seas in some instances. @carrie5 is right that you need to be recovered for the next stage and that the best and most effective treatments are done. Try to take some comfort from knowing that and hopefully the Uni move will start to command your attention pretty soon. Distraction is absolutely the way through the next few days/weeks. Maybe keep phoning your team so that they know to give you results as soon as they can?
