Hi I am currently on Abemaciclib, but I have been off it more than one, within a few days of starting I start fighting an infection and I developed as UTI, as well as my surgery wound breaking down and becoming infected, which means I end up coming off the Abemaciclib and going on antibiotics, I seem to be in this continuous loo. And I am now 6 weeks behind on my cycle as I keep stopping, my blood tests show as okay and I never have a temperature. is there anyone else who has experienced this
@abemiciclib sorry you are have more to cope with, if you feel you have an infection and UTI, please contact your GP or cancer team asap as you need treatment, also should you have a temperature please call 111 for advise.
I’m not medically trained to offer advice, but feel you should get checked out.

Hi thank you, I’m currently on antibiotics for the UTI, and I am at the wound clinic tomorrow for it to be redressed, so I will ask them to swab it. I was just curious if anyone else gets repeated infections when on Abemaciclib, as this will be my 3rd time having this exact scenario since starting this treatment.

Well that’s good news, throughout my breast cancer treatments, every time I had surgery I always went down with an infection which is so debilitating.
So pleased you’re attend the hospital tomorrow fingers crossed for a good outcome.
