We’ ve just got Red Squirrels up here, thankfully! The Greys, lovely cheeky souls that they are, have mostly been ‘eliminated’ as a huge threat to the indiginous Reds. It’ s an ongoing environmental issue. The Reds are much more elusive, smaller, more delicate, but when you see one they take your breath away. I do feel sorry for the Greys, though.
Years ago I remember watching one of my cats stalking what he thought was a rabbit in the farmer’s field……it turned out to be a hare! And the hare ‘turned’! I’ve never seen a cat run away so fast in his life!
I used to be 5’6” ! I’ve ‘run-up’ as my mother used to say! Now 5’4” which is just wrong! Another of the joys of getting older. Compressed vertebrae, I suppose. Dammit.
Congratulations to your lad on passing his driving test! Its a dear do these days, and the insurance can be exhorbitant, although I suppose it makes some sense.
