Evening
(TC#2, Day4) My head is not retaining who mentioned what never mind tagging but do remember somebody mentioned chest pain. … after TC#1, day 5 - 7 I was in hospital for chest pain. They ruled everything out from clots, to my heart playing silly buggers over the two days on ward and a collection of tests. Although I was having ‘bi polar’ blood pressure it was all controlled. Bone pain = coedine. What actually resolved main chest pain was good old Gaviscon and ppi! Madly, the chemo and docetaxel had irritated the crap out of my esophagus and was causing the pain.
So, saw oncologist on Monday - i now get double does PPI inhibitor- Omeprazole to take twice a day throughout chemo plus a few bottles of Gaviscon on the side. Im staying ahead of pain with paracetamol at present but will likely take 2 days of codeine for day 5/6 which were evil last time.
This is all under my oncologist direction after full chest exclusion at the hospital. I did literally think I was having a heart attack the pain was that severe. If in doubt, check it out. Use your magic number.
Crippling esophageal pain is not fun.
