Good morning everyone. It is so fantastic reading everyone’s posts, about finishing chemo or having surgery and nearing the end… Apart from wobbliness, heavy legs ( Phesgo I expect) and sore fingers and nails, I am doing well and hair is growing, almost an inch!! It is however, pretty sparce and white (!) so if it doesn’t thicken up, I will end up with a comb over
and a blonde rinse for colour!
Morning Rachel @story1 , Fantastic chemo is done! Well done, it really is an achievement getting through it. My hair is fluffyish in texture too, it is like baby hair, so soft. Lovely that you have the Keswick trip to look forward to, it helps focusing on nice things. I have almost finished Dark Game, just worrying about Kelly as she seems to be heading for a trap!! I must get number 2 now - never realised how addictive crime books could be - well, fantastically written, totally absorbing, crime books
You are an amazing writer ( slightly warped :)
but I love you!) Keep going…Jane xxx
Morning @anim4l Thank you, yes so pleased it is over. I hope your unsteadiness gets better quickly. The knees do seem to get badly affected, my right one has given out a couple of times climbing stairs and I see that Ailsa @molly.m, has the same problem. Fingers crossed they can get you into surgery faster, we will wait to hear. xxx
Morning Ailsa @molly.m , well done on getting through surgery with a smile and sense of humour, everything crossed for you and the results. No one seems to be bothered (drs and nurses) about terrible looking nails, they didn’t even comment when I said how much they hurt, so I expect they see it a lot. Not much improvement yet, but I can use a butter knife to open most things now!!! Disneyland Paris next year, sounds a wonderful goal. I went around 29 years ago ( blimey makes me sound and feel ancient!!). It was fantastic even then and it feels like it was only yesterday. My son would have been around 4 then and he is 33 now and he sat with me through both my surgeries ( even though visitors weren’t supposed to stay, they let him). Must remind him of the cowboy show we saw and see if he remembers it… Hope your nails hang on in there this week xxx
Morning Kim @cridders , Brilliant to hear you have finished chemo - well done!! I expect the bedtime cuddles and your children telling you how proud they are of you, will be the main memory you keep of this time, what a lovely one too
Hope you have a good week and feel ok. xxx
Morning @dizzy3 , so pleased to read that your recovery is going well. The occasional shooting pains are the nerves knitting back together and perfectly normal. I still have numbness and tenderness even now ( although the shooting pains stopped a while back), I saw my surgeon last week and he said it takes a very long time for all the nerves to knit back together, so he wasn’t bothered about tenderness or numbness. So I suppose you could look at the shooting pains as a good thing, as the nerves are healing and mending, but I hope the pain isn’t too bad. xxx
Morning @emsd2025, I hope that tummy of yours isn’t playing up too much at the moment? It will probably take a while to calm down, but it will get there. xxx
Morning @buggeringon, hope you are feeling a bit less p… off
Talk about highs and lows, this treatment really makes you go through the mill. I will be starting Letrozole in the next few days, when I get the presciption from the Drs, so something else to look forward to, NOT ! xxx
Onwards and upwards everyone, hope you all have the best week you can.
Jane xx
