Somewhere to vent

Hello all, I’m not really sure how to post on here so apologies if I don’t get it right!

I’m worried and don’t know who to talk to in real life!

I’m 40 years old.

Around 6 months ago I felt a lump on the outer area of my right boob, went to the gp sent to the breast clinic and was told after an ultrasound nothing to be concerned about! Fantastic I thought. Then around 3 weeks ago my husband happened to take a naughty pic of me on a night away :+1::joy: saw it the following day and there is a visible dimple on the same boob but inner side. I immediately put it to the back of my mind because I’ve not long ago had an ultrasound. But over the last weeks months I’ve been exhausted to the point it’s been noticeable at work and several people have asked if I’m ok (i didn’t know I was being different) but apparently I’m not my usual self.

Anyway this time last year I had an op on 23rd dec (gyne) and Christmas was a write off and I don’t want to ruin this one too. So really what I’m saying is I need a place to vent. I do have an appointment at the gp that I booked weeks ago re request for bloods due to the tiredness. So will mention it but needed someone to share to.

Hi @becks85 and welcome to the forum.

First thing to say is rant away. I can understand you are concerned even though you had an ultrasound. You are doing the right thing by mentioning it to the GP at your next appointment. If they are concerned you will be referred back to the breast clinic for further checks.

Please know that many lumps and changes to the breast area will be of no concern and the breast clinic/GP is the best place for this. Knowing what is normal for you and getting any changes checked is the best way forward.

I wish you well in your GP appointment, let us know how you get on.

Please know that you can call the BCN nurses on 0808 800 6000 Mon-Fri 9-4 Sat 9-1 to chat this through until your GP appointment.

Take care

Thank you so much for your reply. I had my gp appointment this morning.

I have come away not feeling better or worse. So the dr could see the dimple, it’s fairly clear to see but didn’t say much about it. Because I have tenderness on my outer boob where I had a lumpy area looked at 6 months ago she focused on that and has said she will refer me to the breast pain clinic instead (it’s tenderness not pain) so I don’t know if she felt I was wasting her time a bit :pinching_hand:

I’m sorry you feel a bit deflated after the appointment but the positive is that she has referred you to the breast pain clinic. They will be used to feeling and noticing issues in the breast area and if they feel it needs more investigation I’m sure they will do so.

You can call the BCN nurses to chat.

Firstly, youre not wasting anyone’s time. You’ve found a lump & dimpling and the NHS ask you to see your GP to let them know about these symptoms.

It may be something to worry about & it may not but you need it seen to.

Hopefully by going to the pain management dept. They’ll be able to do somw further investigation & give you much needed answers.

Thinking of you x
