I was told to call hospital yesterday for result of biopsy. Result still not available. Hardly slept since 16 January 2014. I guess they might call me tomorrow. Quite shocked at length of time I have had to wait. I have been told I have 2 clusters of calcification. Biopsy was taken from right nipple. I dont have any discharge but I do have a red boil type mark.

12 days wait does seem excessive - I think you should start putting a bit more pressure on - in a nice way of course.

I’m sorry to read you’re having such a worrying time. As well as the support you recieve here do give the BCC helpline a call on 0808 800 6000. Here you can share your feelings and concerns with a member of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.

I’m sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time, waiting for your biopsy results.
I have had biopsies 3 times and each time, the results took 2-3 weeks.
I know the waiting seems forever. I am in my second week of waiting for another set of biopsy results, but the samples are tested for several things and they can’t be done any quicker.
I hope your results are good when they come. Try not to worry too much

My results came back within a few days on 2 occasions. In fact, I wanted to ask them to double check in case they’d been too hasty. Lol. So, at least you can rest assured that they’re been thoroughly checked. If you do get any news today I hope it is good news. Xx
Can I firstly take the time to thank everyone for taking the time to comment on my thread. I received a call this afternoon from the doc’s secretary. She said the pathology dept had looked at biopsy but they hadnt yet received report. I have an appointment for Friday afternoon which was made 6 weeks ago… I was told that doc would be able to access report on Friday. Fingers crossed again x

Righty…I attended my appointment today. Re: the red swollen lump is a lot better and doc happy with it. So discharged re: lump. Biopsy result back re: 2 calcification clusters…was told result is inconclusive. They are having meeting on Monday. Ive been told
1- I will receive a letter explaining what has happened.
2- I might require another mammogram.
3- I might require another biopsy.
Has this happened to anyone else?
