Last week I went for my first year checkup,on my prev checkup 6 months prior I had a lump which was found to be a seroma after the op, this has started to reduce but now have a lump the other side of my scar which the nurse found, I had a mammogram and an ultrasound to check lump, the person doing the ultrasound said she couldnt find anything and seemed clear. yesterday I got a call from the hospital that said mammogram and ultrasound clear but they want me to go in for a biopsy to check cells all ok around the ‘lump’. She said not to worry about it and I wasn’t when she called but now when I think about it I am. Do I need to be concerned or am I just paranoid about it all???
You could worry yourself sick, See what the Biopsy shows as the Scan and Mamogram are clear so this has to be a good sign.
thinking of you.
I am going to see the specialist today getting results from Lumpectomy and Lyph node biopsy. Found a lump 7 weeks ago, scan and Mamogram showed an Inavasive cancerous tumour in left btreast 12mm. Removed and now get reults to see if just need RADS or Chemo or more surgery. Im worried! xx
Hope it goes ok, went through chemo and rads last year after surgery for a 26mm tumor, its not pleasant but you get through it. Will be thinking of you.x
Hi Nico,
Got results today and have 3 margins showing cancer so advised to have either another WLE or MX.
Opted for WLE again. Found 1st WLE bearable just the injections for days after did my head in!
Having the 2nd WLE mid August. ROUND 2 Ding Ding!!! LOL
Hi Wendels
Sorry to hear that you have to have another op. I had to have 2 WLE’s, followed by 15 rads as no clear margins. The second WLE was more painful but at least you know what to expect and it did seem to heal up more quickly. Ask for stronger pain relief.
I am 13 months down the line of treatment and got the all clear on the 29th June. Keeping everything crossed for you that all goes well second time around. If not, go for the rads, it is tiring but worth the trips as it cleared up any stray cancer cells I had (I doubted it at the time).
I have a “dent” in the lower/middle part of left breast where they did the WLE and scoop and a small scar on the edge of my nipple (the surgeon went in through the same scar 2nd time) but apart from that I count myself lucky that I am a survivor ![]()
Take care and keep us posted
