2 core biopsies... now the wait...

Hi all,

Well, saw specialist yesterday; went for mammo and ultrasound. Whatever it is couldn’t be seen on the mammogram? I found this odd as it’s easily felt… Mind you, I think the radiographer said I had dense breast tissue. Quite clearly seen with ultrasound. I know it’s not a cyst or a fibroadenoma. He was able to be certain about that. He couldn’t really offer anything conclusive though. He said it may potentially be a papilloma (need to look that up), but they usually present with nipple discharge as well? I’m not sure what size the lump is, but it’s also an odd shape… almost like a number 8 with one bit larger than the other!

He did say I have very large ducts… not sure what impact that has. He also checked my armpit with the ultrasound and that looked normal.

I think I’m slightly more confused and bemused than I was before I went!

So, he took 2 samples by core biopsy and now I have to wait for the result. Fingers crossed.

Can anyone shed any light on symptoms of papilloma? Seems mostly to be a nipple discharge, which I don’t have, so I’m not convinced it is one??? Any info anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. xxx

Hi mel,

I’ve replied to your other post and put a link to a leaflet about papilloma, here it is again.
