Hope you got a good night Janey / Lesley Mine was going ok till the cats decided to play at 4am x lol xx
Hi Janey &Bonsai, Â just back from Rads, bit of a delay, power cut (contractor cut through a wire). Thank goodness I wasnât âbeing doneâ at the time, I would have freaked out. Â Engineers soon sorted it out but the radiotherapists had to reset all the machines.
Â
Another awful night for me, dropped off no trouble but as usual after an hour and a half woke up with a jolt then the slow roasting kicked it, got a another hour early hours and that was it. Â I know exactly what my nights sleep is as I wear my Fitbit tracker to bed and it monitors my sleep (or lack of it).
Â
Really hope the antibiotics are kicking in now Bonsai and infection under control. Â And Janey, all the very best to you for tomorrow. Â Sending you both a hug xx
Â
ps, wants to send you both a really absusive message but restrained myself xx
Â
These abusive messages are really firing my imagination Hope you get a better night Lesley and that all goes well tomorrow Janey. Keep smiling when you can
Thank you and in my head the abusive messages are great! Wishing sleep to you Lesley and speedy healing Bonsai. This time tomorrow I hope to be home (famous last words)! Xx
Hi Janey, Hope your surgery went to plan and you are home again xx take care xx
Thank you Bonsai. All done and dusted, now the wait for more results. However, brilliant news before I went in that final tests show nothing in lymph node. Iâm so thrilled. I may yet have to have chemo but may fall into the bracket for Oncotype test, which will Iâm hoping will rule it out. Not sure if the after effect of anaesthetic, surgery or painkillers, but first positive feelings for weeks!! I canât even think of rude messages! Hope you are doing ok and thank you for remembering xx
So glad Janey, letâs hope you avoid chemo altogether really pleased all went well xxx keep smiling xxx
Thank you. Definitely still smiling today, sleeping too. I think Iâm still doped up!! How are you doing with antibiotics? I hope all clearing up properly xx
Hi Janey, glad you are still smiling my infection is almost gone I think, feeling much better, still got a week on the antibiotics to make sure. CT scan on 19th to prepare for radiotherapy so they will do a last check then x suffering with heat and joint pain today courtesy of Anastrazole :y hope they are right and this wears off over time x
Hi Janey & Bonsai, so glad you two ladies are feeling better. Â Enjoy your weekends. Â I going to enjoy my two days off rads, then only two more to go, yay! Xx
Hi Lesley, Enjoy the break xx glad you are almost at the end of the rads xx Looks like I will be starting mine at the end of August/beginning of September xx Have a lovely weekend xx You too Janey xx
Woohoo for the weekend and with the end in sight for you Lesley! We have an amazing charity called FORCE in Devon and they routinely offer 6 complementary therapy sessions to cancer patients. Last time around I had reflexology. However, when I saw the BC nurse yesterday, she suggested I try acupuncture this time. She told me there is positive feedback it reduces hot flushes. Maybe worth a try? Xx
Hi both, where I have my rads at the Churchill in Oxford thereâs an amazing place called The Maggie centre that offers all sorts of treatments and advice.  The problem for me is its so far from home itâs not practical for me to travel there to use the facilities.  A few years ago I tried acupuncture for my migraines and hot flushes one of my many attempts to get off hrt). I found I felt better generally all round, slept better,  hair and skin improved, felt more relaxed - I had a very stressful job at the time.  Unfortunately it was too expensive to keep up, but if itâs available foc go for it xx
That sounds like a similar scheme and good to know you have had positive experience with acupuncture, I will definitely give it a go. Sorry itâs such a long haul in for you to get to the Maggie Centre but so glad your daily commute nearly at an end xx
Sounds ideal to have something like that on your doorstep. We donât here but my best friend does Reiki and Indian Head Massage etc so I am trying some out. Had my first Reiki session yesterday, didnât know what to expect but I did feel relaxed, more upbeat afterwards. Am going to have a weekly session during the rest of my treatment, even if all it does is help me relax it will be worth it.
Hi Janey and Lesley, How are you both doing this week? X
Hi Bonsai. All good and enjoying a quiet cuppa - hoping sniffles are hay fever and not a cold. How are you doing? X
