I have read many threads on here and made many lovely and supportive friends, but never started a thread just hoping some of you will read this and put me out of my misery . I had left Mx in Nov12 followed by reconstruction, and second op on left side in Nov13, and then reduction to rt side to make a more matching pair, so far so good. My wonderful surgeon has promised to remove some excess fat.tissue from one part and lipo fill a dent elsewhere on my left side- he is a perfectionist, the it will be tattooes for the nipples. BUT I am having a minor panic, I have a lot of discomfort mostly under the arm-leftside, and it feels like a pulling sensation from where the dent is.it started about 2 weeks ago, but is definitely feeling worse I have an appointment on Friday16th - to discuss next steps.-guess this will be my first question with them Only 6 sleeps as we tell the children, but think they could well be sleepless. Guess my question is should I be feeling so worried . Huggles to everyone Jenny.
Hi jenny065
Whilst you are waiting for the other users to reply with their support do give the helpline a call on 0808 800 6000. Here you can share your thoughts and concerns with a member of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information. Lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.

Hello Jenny
I guess any ache and pain in that area, can make us feel anxious and slightly panicky, so try not to worry yourself. I am not sure what the pulling sensation could be, but I know lots of ladies experience a range of aches and pains on the operated siden for a good while after the initial op. You are seeing your surgeon on Friday, so the ideal opportunity for you to express your worries. He can have a good look and let you know what he thinks.
Hopefully more of the lovely ladies will be able to share some of their thoughts with you too Jenny, but please do let me know how Friday goes for you won’t you.
Love and ‘huggles’ xx
Hi Jenny,
How severe is the pain?
I had left mastectomy and LD recon in 2012 as well and I find that if i don’t do my stretching exercises I get a tightening and pulling sensation under my arm and round to the donor site on my back. It’s not agony, but it certainly reminds I need to exercise it regularly. I know your appointment is Friday, but if you are worried maybe ring your BCN - it’s not worth the sleepless nights.
I hope it turns out to be something simple for you.
Lots of hugs
Jojo
Hi Jenny065
As Naz and Jojo11 say I think its quite common to get some tightening type discomfort.
I had lumpectomy, some nodes removed and radio and find a few months on that it feels v tight if I don’t do the exercises. I find it also feels tight under the breast itself which I think is how op and certainly radio can affect re fibrosis. Think we all need to remember to keep stretching even when it feels fine…to avoid risk of tightening.
Good you are seeing consultant to chk - hope it goes as well as it can.
