Has anyone had their 2nd (or more) Dexa scan and found bone density has got worse? Have just had mine, was osteopenic in 2 areas 2 years ago. Now found to be osteopenic in all 5 areas, and all got a lot worse. Also found my height has now decreased by 6.3cm in 3 years. I’m 2 years on from WLE, had no chemo, just rads and anastrozole. I have been taking the Adcal D3 and thought that should keep me at the same level, or even improve the bones. Some hope! I’ve had a lot of back and hip pain, had isotope bone scans, x-rays and MRI, got lots of osteoarthritis and degenerative spine. Was this caused by the anastrozole??? I have contacted my PIFU (patient initiated follow up - or piss off and look after yourself as I call it – sorry if that offends anyone) and as all of them seem to be on holiday/maternity leave don’t know when I may/may not here anything. SOrry to have been a moaning minny about what in the great scheme of things is not a major problem, but had started feeling positive that I was coping better than I had been, now feeling a bit crummy and crumbly!! :catvery-happy:xxx
Hi rubycat, I have just had my second scan , earlier as I was having hip pain. I have been recalled to see the Gp within 4 days of having my scan, so extremely anxious like you are.
I love your analogy PIFU which is how I feel.
I have my Gp appointment in the morning so feeling very anxious. Xx
