2nd recall letter

Hello everyone

In 2014 after my first routine screening I was recalled .
Luckily I was told it was just calcium deposits and they could see this on the stronger machine at the assessment center . I was so relieved .

Now 3 years later I went back for my screening at the mobile unit . Just over a week later I got my recall letter (again!).
My mind is in over drive .
Could they be rechecking the calcium deposits ?
Or have they found something else amongst the deposits ???

I’m now adamant they’ve found something because why retell me it’s Calcium deposits again .

My app is Thursday . It feels like years away … I can think of nothing else but cancer . My mother had it at 55 she’s survivor . Now 81 .

Any thoughts please?

Hi Waybuloo,
Well, it’s good it was good benign changes were found previously & obviously something has been found which needs checking out to be sure & it could still be just calcium deposits.
The most that could happen, is there might be an early bc which is usually wholly treatable, with full recovery the normal outcome, but it most likely won’t come to that.
I did get an early bc diagnosis from my second mammo, but treatment was quite straightforward & I was back to life as normal a few months later.
Waiting for appointments is always the pits, but it will get sorted out.
If you want to, let us know how you get on.

Hello … just to update everybody . I went for my results today and have invasive lobular cancer grade 2 . Due for an mri this week with a wire inserted for guidance and meet the surgeon … by midweek the week after for mri discussion and surgery date …
More waiting but I am mainly feeling strangely calm and let’s go get the little b*******… mode now we know what it is … I have told my Mum who had mastectomy 23 years ago same left boob as me and she was wonderful … so positive and calm … I have such a role model …
obviously now worried mri going to find more things to worry about but I realise from this very supportive forum it’s all part of the course .
