Hallo ladies. Just doing a rare check-in as it approaches 3 years since IBC diagnosis with bone secondaries already making their way round skeleton. Still here! Doing ok. Stuff continues to progress in the bones but not exactly racing away. Not really in much pain/discomfort and recently had radiotherapy to the two areas that DID hurt; spine and “good” hip. The other hip was replaced last year as was more osteoarthritis than cancer - this one was the other way round! Am on Aromasin, Zoladex and bisphosphonates and painkillers when nec (which is not a lot). Have hydrotherapy weekly to help with stiff/aching joints which is WONDERFUL. Wishing all you IBC ladies the very best.
Thanks for your update haxted. Its always great to hear from previous posters letting us know how they’re getting on. I will look out for your annual update next year then! Lol
God bless
Libra
Thanks Haxted,
So few of us with IBC and its so scary when you get the diagnosis that you think its bound to get you - its great to hear good news!
Keep well and strong
Hi Haxted,
Kinda my anniversary too which explains why I’m here after a long absence. Started my treatment 3 years ago and I remember you very well. Good to hear you’re still doing well despite the bone mets.
I’ve been very lucky to have survived so far with no evidence of disease since my original diagnosis. Did have a worrying time last year with pain in my hip but turned out to be bursitis. Was so grateful, despite the pain, to have something normal for a change.
I hope you continue to hold it at bay for a long time to come.
Jan xx
HI Girls Jan Haxted, you may remeber me a little after you all went through treatments pounding you with questions and asking for reassurance. So much so that Haxted visited me to reassure me prior to my mx in Poole. Good to hear you are all still wooping it OK. Recently had a DEIP flap tummy to new boob recon and reduced the other one to match the size. Little more symetry to go for this December to make them completely line up but so pleased I could throw away the pretend boob.
