Lulu, thats the best news, you’ve been in my thoughts all day.
Now you can have a fantastic christmas
Love Nicki
Lulu - am thrilled for you, you had me so worried, but am over the moon that its all turned out ok. Go celebrate lovely.
Girls, I’m sorry I haven’t posted on here for so long, but I think about you all loads and loads. It’s just that I get scared coming on here sometimes and its hard not to open up the posts from the other threads, its compulsive, so I’ve found that I haven’t been logging on. Facebook is great though and keeping up with you guys through that is wonderful.
I’m now one day post FEC no. 5. The SE’s aren’t getting any worse, but I do get more weepy in the run up and of course my veins are so sore, hard, black and lumpy.
Have finished work now until March. Was taking its toll and I know I won’t be able to do the children justice with RADS every day. Some time for me as well.
And now am coming to CP too!!! Hooray!!!
Nicki, Caro, Reemie, Sal, Jayney, Becky,She, Brighteyes - love to you all and anyone I have missed.
Al

Lulu, how’s that hangover from the champers?! ![]()
Sal, really glad you’ve recovered from the oink flu. I still haven’t had the vaccine! Not sure I’m going to bother tbh. Good luck today with your appt re. mastectomy. Really sorry you can’t join us at CP this time but I’m sure there’ll be many more!
Jayney, hope you had a lovely time last night. I was all geared up to go out for dinner with the ladies from the support group, but then one of them fell ill so we cancelled it again
Ended up going out with hubby though, so all was not lost. Had some false eyelashes put in yesterday so didn’t want them to go to waste! Will be thinking of you tomorrow hon; another hurdle over with!
Al! I was wondering where you’d been! That’s fantastic news about you coming to CP (I was one of the people who suggested asking you btw :-))!!! We are gonna have such a ball. I’ve already been stocking up on champagne to bring with me, let’s hope it survives the next 4 weeks!
Love and sparkles to you all. Caro xxx

Hi Jayney and everyone else !
Well I think I’ve been in contact with everyone via phone, facebook or text…but to those I havent hope you’ve all had a fab christmas! I know I certainly did…it was manic and I found the build up very emotional at times (for some strange reason I found myself very weepy!) but I was determined to make this Christmas really special! Cant wait to see the end of this year…the last 6 months have been so crap so looking forward to the end of 2009!
Jayney how are you recovering from your op? Did you still manage to have a good christmas? Ive been and had my herceptin this aft and must say that Im having no side affects from it at all…is anyone else?
Got my mx on 14th Jan…just having ‘the one that has let me down’ (my surgeons words ha) off for now…then rads…then Im going to have the other one off and recon at the same time. Through all of this Ive been very much tell me what I need to get done and Ill do it…but starting to feel very nervous and unsure about the op, although I want it over and done with at the same time! My doc has told me that the op is no worse than the lumpectomy and lymph node removal that I had done in June…is this true? Wud welcome any tips and advice about the op and post op from any of you girls that have had a mx???
Just put my 6 yr old to bed and she asked me…when are you going to be normal again mommy? I asked her what she meant and she said well nobody elses mommies have to keep going to hospital and have operations and medicine…to which I reminded her it was what was making me better…and she said I just want you to be you again and not have you go to the hospital cos the house isnt the same without you here
So sad that she is having to go through this…grrr !!!
Anyways love to you all xx
Hi Sal, Jayney and everyone,
Well that’s Christmas done for another year - its always over so quickly.
Like you Sal, I really want to put this year behind me and am looking forward to 2010 being so much better.
Sal - I understand completley how you feel about your daughter, my 6-year old son is the same and likes to talk about what colour I should have my hair when it grows back. He says when my hair grows back I will be a real Mummy again. It’s heartbreaking, but we just have to keep reassuring them and staying as happy as possible in front of them. Save the tears for our hubbies and other grown ups, although I have to say my hubby is starting to feel the strain now and I find that I’m keeping more and more niggles to myself to spare him.
For example - I have always felt a hard lumpy area where the orginal lump was removed. The surgeon assured me it was scar tissue and I know I have titanium clips where the lump was - do you think it should still feel hard now??? Think I will post a new thread as I am worried, but think I’m being a bit silly.
Anyway, I’m rambling. We’re off to Canterbury for 3 nights to see in the New Year, so Happy New Year to you all, it certainly can’t be any worse than this one can it???

Hi salsal 21
As well as the support you receive from the other forum users you may find the BCC booklet ‘your operation and recovery’ helpful. It explains what to expect before, during and after surgery and has information on breast cancer operations. If you would like a copy or to read this on line just follow this link:-
breastcancercare.org.uk/upload/pdf/your_op_and_recovery_07_web_0.pdf
I hope this helps
Kind regards
Sam (BCC Facilitator)
