The hospital where I’m getting treatment from has told me I’ll be having a mastectomy on 20 January with reconstruction on the same day. I have just had a letter today asking me to go for a colposcopy test as well in January. I’m now fearing I may have cervical cancer as well. I’ve been told there is no link, but I still feel scared. I want to have the colposcopy before surgery. If I did have cervical cancer as well, would chemo treat both cancers?
Panic is over! I’ve answered my own question. Looks like the smear is only a minor abnormality. I think I just got myself into a state as everything was happening at the same time!
Hi Romana
Sorry only just seen your post…glad all is OK for you. I had the same - tests for BC & cervical at same time. I think there are alot of women in the same boat & it’s just horrible. Irony with me was that I’d had pre-cancerous cervical cells before so was more worried about that than I was about the lump in my breast. Turns out the cervix cells just needed burning off and the lump was grade 2 lobular carcinoma. It’s a funny old world isn’t it?
Best regards
