wasnt quite sure where to post this but seeing as i am 40 thought here would be a good start. I just wanted to post a positive post, i was diagnosed at 36 with a 5 month old baby and two young boys, grade 3, 6 nodes involved prognosis not good, but over 4 years on (husband left me for my best friend) but i am happy, so far ned and living life to the full, i had a double mastectomy with reconstruction, chemo radio the works and being single again was a big deal, well my friends have slept with two 28 year olds and it didnt bother them one bit just kept my bra on an now seeing a lovely 34 year who also does not bother, life does go on and i have to say have not been on this site since september as my life has been so busy, i have weeks not days now where i dont think about cancer so just wanted to say those at the beginning of the journey life does get so much better and there is light for you all at some point. Good luck to all xx
What fab inspiration! {{Slap}} to your husband, but {{Hugs}} to you for keeping so positive & all togther
I’m at the start of a journey like yours (40, babies of 2y & 6m, grade 3 & lymph nodes), but you give me a light at the end of the tunnel which is great

Thanks so much karencats! It is so so great to hear your story. I am one year on from diagnosis and hearing things from others who are much further down the line than me makes me feel much more positive
xx
You know I nearly didn’t click this link in case it was bad news and I am feeling fragile today - but what a great post - love the bit about the 28 year olds - that is superb! Sorry that your husband turned out to be such a jerk - but glad that you are finding people to console yourself with!! I think we need more people like you to turn to for inspiration as we go through all this…
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your story here…
Love Mary x

I am a 4-year person too! First found the lump 1 March 2004, grade 3 and nodes involved, so am very pleased to be here NED in 2008.
At almost 50 I’m not really in the younger women category, but thought I’d join in as last week I did have a glass or two of wine to celebrate - it certainly felt like a milestone had been reached and passed!

I am glad my post helped went out again last night with my 34 year who now turns out to be so wealthy it is unreal and a very nice man too (not that money matters) but nice to be able to stick two fingers up at my husband and very materalistic friend and go up yours and get me cant help but being a little smug. Who knows where life will end for all of us but grab it enjoy it and make the most of it it is possible girls and let you into a secret anyone thinking of going for recon do it my boobs are the talk of the village 30FF now and sit in exactly the right place well worth the pain.
My friends mum has just been disgnosed and have been helping them which made me post this as they had said how much i had helped them, just wanted to give a little back as i know how much these sorts of stories helped me 4 years ago.
Raise a glass girls you are all here today xxx
