4 years on

didnt quite know where to post this so have done on younger women and here. Well was diagnosed 4 over 4 years ago with a baby of 5 months and 2 young boys grade 3, 6 nodes involved had double mastectomy with recon eventually (boobs now look fab) chem radio the works prognosis not good. Husband left me last year for my best friend, but i am still here happy healthy (ned so far). Being single was a big deal for me with the body issue so my friends, having slept with 2 28 years olds they didnt bother just kept my bra on and now seeing a lovely 34 year old who really is not bothered life does improve, just wanted to say to all of those who are at the start or going through the journey keep your chin up there is light at the end of the tunnel at some point for you all. Havent been on this site since september because my life has been so busy, i go weeks now not days/hours without thinking about cancer and i know at the start of my journey hearing stories like this gave me some hope, so i really hope this helps some of you out there. xx

Hi Karencats - What a lovely, positive posting and it is just great to read that after the terrible time that you went through four years ago (and last year) you have really got your life back together, and your sex life as well! Good on you! Women often write that they would love to hear from women who have been through treatment and are now able to be back doing normal, busy things and whose every day is no longer dominated by having had breast cancer. Thanks for thinking of us all in the middle of treatment and taking the time to send a posting - I am sure it will be a huge encouragement to all who read it. Good luck for the future, and let us know from time to time how life is for you. Sarah

karencats - so fantastic for you to let us know how you are doing. its hard to imagine going weeks without thinking of cancer - your message will give so much hope to loads on this site

Hi Karencats

How lovely to read your post - it helped me so much this morning, so I just had to thank you for taking the time to let us know that life can be good again. To read of someone who is facing life head- on after all you have been through is inspirational!

I’m not as far on in this journey and bc does intrude on my thoughts and enjoyment of life more than I feel it should. Reading posts like yours from ladies who are ‘coming out the other side’ are what gives me hope.

Enjoy your lovely children - they have an inspirational Mum. I hope you find happiness round every corner - you surely deserve it!!

Seren X

well done karencats!
