5 weeks after WLE - lump appeared- any ideas?

I had a WLE and SNB 5 weeks ago and everything is recovering well, but last week a raised area appeared above the scar on the boob and not got a clue what it is. Has any one got any ideas? My BCN said she didnt think it was a seroma cos they are nearly always on your SNB scar not the WLE (spoke to her on phone) It feels very hard, egg shaped and doesnt hurt to touch!!!

I had exactly the same thing happen after my lumpectomy! It was like a large egg. My doctor as a precaution referred me back to the breast clinic to see the consultant who had done my op. He took one look and told me it was just scar tissue and the healing process and not to worry. Three months since surgery it is still there but its getting smaller. Hope this puts your mind at ease. My lump was about a cm to the right of my scar.

PS it actually was bigger, harder and more pronounced than the lump I had removed!!

Thanks Jules!
I feel a bit better now. Did yours come up some time later after surgery?

Jackie

Yes! I had my surgery around 23rd of May and my hubby and I went to Turkey for a holiday a month later. I was putting moisturising cream on my body in the evening after being in the sun and I suddenly came across this egg, and I mean egg, as in a really pronounced lump. I even spoke to a few of my lady friends from here on facebook about it and we came to the conclusion it would probably maybe be a hematoma or infection and that I should see my GP. She said the same thing and referred me to the breast clinic that week as I was still under them post op, I was seen two days later and I actually saw the head honcho, ie the consultant who had done my surgery and he said thats just scar tissue after your operation, and it will start to go down eventually nothing to worry about, and its still there but gradually shrinking! I let my friends have a feel and they were like omg!! I said its ok it feels bad but its nothing to worry about. Hope this has helped but your situation sounds exactly the same as mine in that it was right beside the scar where they had done the lumpectomy.
