Hello,
Im new to the group.
Looking for some support, i feel quite isolated at the moment with my diagnosis.
I was diagnosed on the 11th of April. ER8 PR8, GRADE 1 AND 2. I was told that from the scan there wasnt anything that could be seen in the lymph nodes.
I had a masectomy on the 13th of May, i got the histology back on friday. They has removed 6 nodes and found it in one. I was told it waa lobliar cancer, slow growing, so they were suprised it was in my node. I was told is is good news just in one, im booked in for an op to remove all nodes on the 2nd of July. I dealt with the firsr op quite well, but finding csncer in the lymph nodes has sent me into a spin… of what ifs etc, i thought id done the hard bit. I waited 4 weeks for surgery and then 2 for the results.
Im just very worried now and its s long wait!.. anyone has a similar experience.
Many thsnks
Welcome Tybee to the group none of us want to join.
I was diagnosed September 23, with IDC ER8 PR8 GRADE 2 and nothing could be seen in the lymphs at that time. I had a lumpectomy and slnb where it was found in the two lymph nodes that they removed, one had microcalcifications and one had macrocalcifications, like you I went into a total meltdown.
I went onto have a further 6 nodes removed and these were all clear. They went in through my scar under my armpit where they had done the initial slnb.
The second operation was fine although I did have a small seroma a week afterwards which gradually dispersed. I continued to do my exercises daily and still do especially if it feels a bit tight under my arm.
I now have letrozole for 10 years and 3 years of ibandronic acid.
I waited four weeks for my first surgery then had to wait for my results which I think was another four weeks, followed by another two week wait for the lymph node clearance.
The constant waiting is such a worrying time as I have no doubt others will tell you, along with giving you some good advice.
Keep posting and try not to worry (easier said than done I know) and post on here with your questions if it helps you.
take care

I then had an onco test which came back at 11 so was told chemo wasn’t beneficial and I had 5 days radiotherapy.
Thank you Chillout!
For your response, it sounds like you healed well after the op.
Did you have all your lymph nodes removed? Im having an axillary (I think its called that) clearance. Im guessing micro and macro calcifications indicates how much was found.
Many thanks xx
Hi tybee
Yes I healed fine after the operations. I had an axillary clearance but only had a further 6 nodes so only 8 in total, I was surprised how few but apparently we all have a different amount.
Yes micro and macro are the amounts found in the nodes, I was so upset as initially I was told my nodes looked clear.
The waiting for all these results is the worse, I was due to get mine back just before christmas and they were delayed until after Christmas, then another four weeks after that for the onco test as that has to be sent to America for testing.
Sending hugs
Xx
Thank you Chillout… xx
