9 weeks post mastectomy and silicone reconstruction - still in pain and dented boob

Hi, have been searching the boards to see if anyone has experienced anything like I am at the moment.

Had my surgery 5th May and apparently it was ‘hideous’ according to my surgeon as I lost a lot of blood and it took more hours than planned. Decided on a full mastectomy with silicone implant as I had already had 6 rounds of chemo to shrink the tumour and was fully expecting pain and to take pain relief for a good few weeks.

i n9w have two issues, I am still in a lot of pain 9 weeks on and have cut back on pain killers as they are not really helping anymore, surgeon injected me with local anaesthetic which had zero impact either way. I had another MRI yesterday which was incredibly painful as be8ng upside down on an implant, not great and am waiting he results.

I also have a dent in the left side of my breast as well and mt surgeon keeps looking at me and saying what I have is unusual. I am beginning to think I may be being a drama queen and just would love to know if anyone else has been through anything similar and it will be alright I’m the end.

Have now started Kadcyclia (2/14) and nee some more hope xxx

Hi Helen , sounds like you have a rough time recovering from your op . I hope the MRI sheds some light on what’s going on and it can be resolved soon for you .Can you talk to your GP about different options for pain relief ? I hope someone who’s experienced similar will be able to help with this . You could also maybe ring the BCN nurses helpline to discuss ?

Hope things improve soon .

Thanks Jill, turned out the MRI was fine and the pain I am now experiencing are side effects from Kadcylia and mt GP has given me Naproxen and Codeine and will look at other pain relief once she has the OK from my oncologist. Been taking them for a few days now and though the pain is still there, it is far less painful than before .
