A bit concerned

Hi there, I’m 40 year old female. I have had pain in my right breast for almost 2 month. The pain is below and behind my nipple and goes towards my armpit. I can’t feel a lump but at times swelling. The pain actually has me wincing. I had a non cancerous lump removed from this breast 14 years ago.
Any advice is grateful:-) x

Hi Beachbum,it’s very probably nothing to worry about but until you get it checked out you are always going to have it in the back of your mind aren’t you .If it is something that does need treatment then the sooner the better.Good luck .Jill.

Thank you Jill, just saying it out loud has helped. I am at the nurse for a different issue on Monday so I will talk to her about my concerns. x

Hi BeachBum, just wanted to say although I’ve had breast cancer I also had a Fibrodenema which caused me pain on and off for years, I had no idea what it was until I was diagnosed and it was discovered during tests so they removed it at the same time and now I’m pain free, lots of things can cause breast pain and it’s not always going to be anything sinister, get it checked out as soon as possible rather than suffer Xx Jo

Thank you Jo for your words. It’s so easy to sit and try and diagnose myself and worry about it but you’re right getting it checked is the best option.
I hope you are now cancer free xx

So I plucked up the courage to make an appointment with my GP last week. She has referred me to the breast clinic and I now have my appointment for April 17th. I have a holiday with my hubby so I asked for it to be after that, so it’s the day after I come back. I’m apprehensive and scared but I just have to try keep it at the back of my mind for now. However, It’s difficult as I have pain in my breast and arm pit everyday and have done for 3 month now.

That’s good BB ,try and enjoy your holiday and let us know how you get on.

Thank you Jill. I’ll be sure to come back! Hopefully with good news  X

Hi Beach bum, thanks for responding to my post. Hoping your worries will soon be relieved & that all will be clear! Take my advice & ask for a biopsy before leaving your appointment. I’m glad you’re having a holiday, hopefully that will relax & ease your mind. Very best wishes & keep us posted. Xx

Thank you also Ginap. I have replied to your post xx
What a worry all the waiting is. It’s really taking over my everyday thoughts. I haven’t told anyone except my husband but he works away for weeks at a time so I guess I’m consuming fear which isn’t helping. So not long til my holiday and it’ll be a wonderful time then we will deal with this matter. Onwards and upwards. All the best to you too xxx ?

Have my mammogram appointment this afternoon. Obviously I’m a tad worried. Have just had 10 days on a Caribbean cruise with my husband and felt very emotional throughout thinking it could be my last. Totally irrational thoughts I know but the mind games I’ve had during this wait has been awful! So today my mind will be at peace I hope ? X

Good luck, hope you get good news.

Thank you Jill  x

Awww I’m happy for you Jobey! :sunny:
Thought I was over reacting with the thoughts but makes me feel not so crazy knowing you did too.
I’ll let you know how it goes. I’ve a funny feeling it’s going to be a long day! ? x

I was picking songs for my funeral in the early days, I think it’s pretty normal really!

When will you get the results or did they say anything at the time? The waiting is truly hideous, if you are having to wiait, that is!

Hi ladies
I had my mammogram appointment last Monday. I was told afterwards from the consultant that everything g was ok. However, I’ve received a letter this morning to go for another mammogram and have an ultra sound done next Monday. I’m beside myself :frowning: xx

Thank you Vic,for your reply. I am still in a bit of shock by the letter this morning. All the irrational fears I initially had have all come rushing back. I’d like to say I’ll try not to worry too much…I’m so emotional it’s hard to try to keep it off my mind. x

Thank you Jo :relaxed: The clinic you’re talking about has obviously learnt from experience to have made these sensible changes!
The clinic I was at was so busy and it was like a conveyer belt of woman getting mammograms then back in to see the consultants. Such an eye opener to see so many woman there.
I was told after the mammogram the radiographer would check it then pass results back to consultant.
Ill just have to keep my fingers crossed u til next Tuesday ( thought it was Monday initially ) xx

Morning ? So back to hospital at 11 this morning for 2nd mammogram and ultra sound. Have barely slept and my tummy is in knots.
Have tried to remain positive this past week, today I hope for a good outcome. I’ll be back to let you know.
Meanwhile have a lovely day, hugs to all needing them xx

Wishing you all the best love, hope all is good for you please let us know x
