A glass of fizz?

I hadn’t drunk for 8 years and I was never a big drinker when I did . Still got BC😢.
I think common sense and moderation is a good rule . Enjoy x

Prior to getting cancer I barely drank, never smoked, never taken drugs, eat well, walk everywhere, gym….and it still got me. So I’ve done everything ‘right’. Alcohol is never my first choice if I’m spoiling myself, but if I’m out for dinner and want a glass of fizz I’ll be having one. One glass every now and again isn’t going to result in cancer coming back. Yes, excessive drinking can lead to a whole host of medical problems. But once in a while after everything you’ve been through, go enjoy the time with your family. We’ve all been dealt a bum hand here….and you are more than worthy of celebrating coming to an end of treatment.

My friend asked her BC nurse about alcohol and she said “A little of what you fancy does you good”. I sometimes feel guilty after I’ve had a glass and wish I hadn’t. If you’re likely to be like that you can buy very quaffable non-alcoholic fizz that makes great Bucks Fizz. Perhaps even your daughters might like it.

I finished my treatment in March last year.

Before my diagnosis I would say I drank a glass of wine most nights with my dinner and if I went out for the evening.

After treatment
I was so anxious about alcohol and scared of getting a reoccurrence. I spoke to my nurse and friends about my worries.

Today…I still love to socialise and go out at the weekends, and enjoy a couple of glasses of wine.
Love a Friday night glass of wine!

I work hard, exercise and sleep well.
My mental health is just as important and stopping doing something I enjoy would make me sad.

Have that glass of bubbly as we never know what’s round that corner.
I’m here for a good time not a long time!
