Hi, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in jan and had my lump removed at the end of jan. am starting AC and taxol chemo next week which is every 2 weeks for 8 cycles. Not up to date with all e terminology but has anyone else been throug this recently as I can only see advice from a few years ago. Am petrified of losing my hair but I know that is a small price to pay and will grow back. Any advice/experiences will be greatly received. Thanks xx
Hi Kat145
Welcome to the forum. You might find it helpful to have a look at the Chemotherapy monthly threads which are started by members beginning chemotherapy in the same month. I have attached a link to the February group:
We also have factsheets on AC and Taxol which might also be useful. I’ve attached links to those as well:

Very best wishes

Hi there, I was diagnosed April 2013 so have been through chemo and radiotheraphy. Still on Herceptin until September. Lost my hair(now growing back). It’s very hard to tell anyone who is about to go through treatment, what’s it’s like as we are all very different. We respond in different ways to treatment, as for the hair loss, lots of women wear wigs and look very good in them. As for me, it didn’t bother me, I wore hats. You do what’s right for you & what feels comfortable. There is lots of help & support out there. Some times you have to ask. Where I live there is a great cancer support group, the hospital also do alternative therapy’s. Get as much info as you can. There will be up’s and down’s, stay strong. I wish you all the best, take care x
