How are you? Have you made your difficult decision regarding treatment and have you spoken to your oncologist.
You were right about the surgery and SNB - it was not as bad as I imagined - still blue from dye - but have managed a couple of evenings going out for meals as kids at grandmas.
I saw the Onc yesterday. Have decided not to have chemo. Just picked up my Tamoxifen today. Am wondering whether to leave it until Sunday to start taking it in case there are early side effects. I go out for a meal on Saturday nights and don’t want to feel c…p! I was just going to see if anyone can advise when I saw your message.
I am glad your surgery wasn’t too bad and you are still able to enjoy your self. Let me know how you get on. What stage are you at now?
I am at the dreading waiting for results stage. Going back on wednesday for them, and hopefully a plan. I really do believe the waiting is the worst.
I think I would wait until Sunday - enjoy you’re week-end.
When do you have to start rads and how long for?
Good luck for Wedns. As you are aware, I do know what you are going through. I am going to Spain on 7 Sept for two weeks, as we have recently bought a house there. I will start with my radiotherapy on or around 24 Sept for 4 weeks, at Christies Hospital, as they don’t do it at Macclesfield, where I live and had my op. Friends and colleagues at work have offered to give me lifts and my Personnel Dept at work are drawing up a lift rota for me. Some people do drive there when having their treatment, but I will be glad of the lifts, as I get a bit stressed when I drive to places I don’t know and I believe you get a bit tired towards the end anyway.
Hope you have a fab time in Spain. Hopefully it should be much warmer out there. What part of spain?
Is Christies a long way for you to travel?
Fantastic about your personnel department drawing up a rota - take all the help offered. (thats what I keep getting told anyway).
Have you been told if you have to have your treatment the same time everyday and did you get any say in the time.
I ask because I am trying to get things straight in my head about what kind of help I will need.
Have a lovely week end. Take care x
Our house is in Los Alcazares on the Costa Calida, Murcia region. We bought it in May as a joint purchase with my husband’s brother in law and this is the first time we have been on a holiday there, as we rent it out. My husband would have been so fed up if he had not been able to go.
No Christies isn’t far from where I live. Probably 30-40 mins, depending on time of day and traffic. It is just a pain having to go every day for a month. They do have a special car park for people who are having radiotherapy though. The Breast Cancer Nurse at Macclesfield has told me that the Nurses at Christies do try their best to be accommodating re time. However, you get your first appointment through the post at a time set by them and then you can discuss your preferred time on your first visit.
