Aching feet on FEC

I finished chemo on 24th May and I am now coming to the end of rads. For the last week I have been suffering from aching feet and ankles.
Night time and when I am sitting down is th worst.

I know some of you have suffered from aching feet on tac, but I was on Fec.

I had a review meeting yesterday and I did mention it but the doctor hadn’t heard of anyone having this problem with Fec. She suggested that I take ibroprofen to see if that helps.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi cmw,

I just had my 2nd FEC on Wed. I’m still suffering from lots of aches in my feet and knees and legs. I can hardly walk properly.

After my 1st FEC, the aches went after half a day, so didn’t mention it to my onc. But, I’m having lots of problems with my 2nd one. So, will def mention it to my onc next time I see him a week on Wed.

I’m also having neulasta injections, but I don’t think that’s causing the pain.

Anyway, I don’t have any solutions. Just let you know that you are not alone in this. Will report back if my onc has any suggestions.

Take care xx

Hi cmw,

My onc said apparently, it’s very common to get aches and pains on chemo!!! He didn’t specifically mention FEC, though. But he’s recommended Paracetamol, another common painkiller.

Take care xx

Thanks M1yu

I have noticed an improvement with the aching. Now it just seems to be standing that causes a problem, so I just sit down - it’s a good excuse.
