I have had a lumpectomy, followed by chemotherepy and now radiotherepy. Since starting my radiotherepy I have had aching muscles and limbs which are making it hard for me to sleep, rest or exercise! I have read about fatigue but I dont feel partiularly tired just aching. Has anyone else had similar symtons? I haven’t read anything about aching muscles as a side effect and I am starting to think there may be someting else wrong with me.
I finished rads 2 weeks ago and felt great. Now all my joints seem to be aching and the muscles in my arms and legs too. I don’t feel particuarly tired as such, but my body does (if that makes sense?). Funnily enough, walking my dog seems to help as I feel fine when i’m out and about. I haven’t started exercising much apart from walking as I’m waiting to start at the gym with " exercise by invitation", and I walked all through chemo and rads so i’m not doing something i’m not used to. I think it must be an accumulation of everything my body has been through over the last 8 months, wle, chemo and rads and it’s putting up a bit of a protest.
Hiya Janet O,
I have aching muscles especially on my upper legs, I cannot walk up the stairs without needing to rest. I am also very breathless too. Apparently this is all to do with chemo, especially TAX (the last of which I had on Fri). I am really hoping this is going to improve steadily. It’s not nice is it?

I have achey muscles too. I thought initially it wasdue to the over exertion playing a gig two weeks ago but it hasn’t worn off. Both legs & arms ache. It’s worse if i sit still so I suppose gentle exercise is best & fingers crossed it doesn’t last too long.
