On my ct scan it showed my adrenal glands are swollen tho consultant said he does not believe it is linked to bc
I am seeing a nurse on Monday and have an mri on Thursday and will see consultant on 12th October the day before my chemo starts has anyone else had ‘other things’ found as part of this process
I had managed to sort of dismiss it but now it’s playing on my mind x

Mate thinking about you, mind you it sounds more positive that the consultant does not believe it is linked to bc.
It is so difficult whenever we go through things like this, immediately the anxiety monster starts to kick in and sometimes its hard to kick it into touch.

Hi Sue, understand what you’re going through, the mental strain of bc is so hard. I hadn’t really realised that until I was diagnosed myself.
I was found to have an extra kdney on my CT scan! Also though, a lymph node in my breast that onc thinks is probably cancerous, so having a PET scan on Monday to check that before chemo starts. I know it’s for my own good so that it can be monitored, but worrying that something else will be picked up as original scan had said my lymph nodes were ok and yet 3 were found to be cancerous after op xx
Jen it’s a big minefield and I feel like I am waiting for the next explosion
Yes my ultrasound said no lymph but here I am 4 months later having had axillary clearance and it was in 5 of 12
Let’s just hope we both get better news from upcoming investigation think it’s about time we got a break xx

I got a busy day ahead so just eating marmite on toast beforeI go out
Going into school for Macmillan coffee morning which I am sure will be emotional
Then need to drop balloons and cake at restaurant for when we go to celebrate my sons 21st later
Then one of my friends from school who I haven’t seen for 34 years is coming to visit so excited to see her x
Hopefully won’t have too much spare time to dwell on all the medical stuff x

Had a lovely meal last night though my son was mortified when happy birthday played and his cake came out ??
Jen sometimes familiarity is good and you can find support in the most unlikely of places take your support wherever you can

I am home alone today as my daughter taking her brother to Alton towers for the day but when she came to pick him up she brought be a bath bomb from lush so going to treat myself to a bath ?
I got an mri on Thursday I believe you had one I am not worried about it hurting or the actual scan but can you drive after? X
Good news you got a start date I felt better once I knew chemo was planned (scared but better) x
I had s great day yesterday and the happiness still seems to be with me today x
Hi Sue. I had an mri last week and drove myself there and back no problem. It’s a little uncomfortable having to lay on your front but it only lasted about 15 minutes. They keep you for 20 minutes after the injection stuff goes in so I had to wait around a bit after. Don’t go with anything metal on you and you’ll only have to take your top things off.

Hi Jencat. As o have experienced the full range of scans I can help you with the PET scan too lol. It was like a CT but a longer machine and took a bit longer to scan. Maybe about 20 minutes I think. They out the injection in 1 hour before scan so there’s some waiting around. Take a magazine or something. I didn’t wear anything metal so didn’t need to change into a gown for that one.

Thanks Cassie I will go that one on my own then my husband has had so much time off work I am conscious now that I need to go to some appointments On my own and I know there will be no results or anything x
I know the fasting for PET scan is the worse. You do get sick of water very quickly. Where I went I had a room where I could sit/lay on a bed and chill. You can go to the loo when you want. They come and get you when ready for scan.

I’m not sure. I got my dad to drop me off and pick my up so didn’t have anyone with me. As long as they’re not a child or pregnant it might be ok. I just took a magazine and chilled for a bit. Unfortunately the magazine had a food awards special in it. After fasting for 6 hours I could eat the food off the page. If you’re like me and eat pretty much all the time take some biscuits or a sandwich for afterwards lol

No they don’t tell you anything you just get kicked out. I already had an appintment booked in for results so assume if you haven’t already then you’ll get one. This is either with the doctor or oncologist.
I hate laying still for so long as you can guarantee something with itch that I can’t get to lol
