Hi can anyone give me advice about looking after my nails whilst I have my chemo. I’m waiting for a start date for my FEC-T and have been reading my leaflet and it says about expecting a few problems with my nails. I recently had a pedicure and had a “gel” top coat which I usually do once a month. Will I be okay to still have my regular pedi or should I go and get the varnish taken off before I begin chemo. I know this is trivial but I love my monthly pedi so any advice will be gratefully received.
Hi T3D
While you are waiting for some replies to your post I’ve attached a link to the thread “Top Tips to help get you through chemo” which may be helpful.
You might also find it helpful to join one of the Chemo monthly threads started by members beginning their chemo in the same month. I’ve attached a link to the March thread.

Hi
I am to have my last number 3 T on Easter Monday after having 3 x FEC and 3 T
I bought something called Evonail on the net from a French company cost about £15 and my nails are fine still strong and white
I have a problem with my two large toe nails bruising but so far so good
Good luck with your treatment

Hi I am used to having shellac on my nails and checked if ok to continue - it was and have to be honest my nails are stronger than ever. Have continued to have them painted as and when needed and it had been a lovely treat every few weeks.
