Evie, I have problem with veins too, sat with my arm in a bowl of hot water so she could get it! Bloods girls have told me to go in 2 before my number comes up for the hot water treatment!!
Sicky feeling on and of depending when I’ve had tabs and nibbled! But not actually been sick, don’t like that!!!

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me joining your thread, I started my first dose of chemo yesterday morning. It is FEC - not sure if its for all 6 cycles – I was told I too had to have chemo first before surgery or any other treatment…
I have to say I’m not doing too well actually – [my daughter is helping me write this] - Vomited 5 times since yesterday. I have a feeling I even threw up the domperidone I took at about 6 ish.
Worried that if I take domperidone now I may throw that up, and Won’t be ablet to take the ondesetran/dexameth…:S
Anyone feeling as bad as me? Rang the onco day unit yesterday, they said that I shudn’t have really started vomited/felt as sick…makes me wonder if I’m just over sensitive to it.
~I literally have never taken any pills in my whole life except for paracetamol…I know my body isn’t happy with me because I’m doing what I’m doing…
I hope this sickness goes…

Ginger biscuits…will that help? tried some ginger and honey tea yesterday, maybe only drank a sipful with plain dry breadsticks…threw it up…

welcome not the place we want to be im on 3 fec and 3 tax and had my first fec last tue and yes i was also sick from 3pm to 930pm then also the following morn in the end i had to back to chemo unit for a drip also diff sickness pills i also had a rash it did settle down i was told to have a glass of flat lemonade that is meant to help also try the sea sickness bands i felt so unwel that its made me dread next lot but im hoping they can sort it dont suffer ring back or phone gp we dont have to be sick i hope u feel better soon xx
Hiya Zee. I agree with laura. Call hosp back. You may get dehydrated.Flat lemonade is good. So is plain biscuits or crackers. Try anything that worked if you had morning sickness.
Rubbish group to join but we are all lovely on this thread and are new to chemo. ITs hard to take anything for sickness when still vomitting-no point is it?
Rest and get some more advice.

Hi Everyone,
Just jumping in when noticed side effects of FEC. Appologies if sounding wobbly. Just recovering! I had first FEC on Tues, oh boy have I been so sick. 12hrs throwing up every hr. Doc came in yesterday with a jag which helped but I threw up again later and they wanted to hospitalize me. They gave me 1 last chance and it stopped. I’ve just eaten toast. I hope it stays put!! Doc told me not to bother with dex, just to take anti sickness.
I have already had 3 TAX and herceptin which I found ok. A lot of people have trouble with that. I’m on a trial which has me taking them the other way round. They are not keen to alter the dose on a trial so I’m going to feel nervous at next chemo after what I’ve just gone through!

HI,Sue my boy is Daniel and i love him to bits…i feel i am doing this for him…and that gives me strenght.My veins are good but yest befor the treatment they disapear…i was cold and nervous but no problems i hope they will last till the end because you have to have blood test done befor you go for your next treatment so chemo nurses very kind to veins but i dont know what the blood taking ones will be…!I have to say that i have been sick after 3pm yest till 5 pm when i rang the chemo and they say - come here for iv antisickness but difficult for me to travel i felt so bad ,so i ask her what i can do home i felt like Zee all antisickness tabl went in the loo…so she said i have to take one more +the ones wich are supporting antisikness so i did, after 3 hrs i was soooo sick but i tought surely some of the tabl will be absorbed for 3 hrs -from 5-8 pm i didnt want to go to the hospital so i had a quiet night havent been sick till 6 am take 1 more tabl and feel hungry so start having sereals and some crackers for lunch…so i can understant what Zee and Laura say about fantom pregnancy oh it is worse…and yes that really will put me off for next one…sorry to tell you all that before yout treatment but i know that you want to be ready for anything comes…now i feel good still a bit tired from all that but i hope no more- once it stoped…Zee if you have been sick for 24 hrs without be able to drink yes you will need a drip and change sickness tabl …Fiona arent you too young for all that my heart feel for all young people have to deal with that horrid ilness.Yeast in that chemo unit i was hooping to meet some people my age…and guess what they were all 60ish-arent they lucky…anyway all the best for everyone here is so nice to talk with people with same expirience…xxxChristina

id thought id pop back on leave you a positive comment this is day 10 for me and im fealing a lot better now managed to do a little ironing today and few jobs so it will come just take time i feal sorry for the sick ladies out there i no what that feals like it will settle just have to give it a few hours then the sore mouth and no tastes buds and aches from the jabs to come lol sorry dont want to put you all off we are all diff this is my first day of fealing norm its great and you will all get there at least we can share our sickness together do i want lunch now lol take care everyone keep posting laura xx
Well ladies i can tell you i can hardly wait now for 2nd july! i am the worlds sickiest person! cant travel on anything and often feel sick for no reason so i am sure FEC will kick my butt!

Laura good you are getting back to some normality…whatever that is when you have BC and are on chemo.

I guess iv antisickness is the way to go when being really sick but not ideal having to travel to hospital to get it?

Zee im really concerned about that too… my first epi is next week and really worried about the sickness… i hate the feeling sick more than the being sick. if you vomitting up your meds perhaps you could get ondansetron melts (personally think they taste vile) but you just suck them and have some very good effects for people who throw their meds… also make sure to start taking meds before you feel sick as some are better at preventing it from happening rather than making it go away once it has started… hope that makes sense.
Sue im like you… after my WLE i was told i could go home the same day but after taking 2 1/2 hours in recovery i ended up getting kept in with PONV for the next two days so im worried about the nausea and vomitting SEs of chemo.
think im more worried about the nausea than the vomitting cos after iv been sick i usually feel better but even the thought of it all is worrying me.
i also have dreadful veins… even had to use my foot in the past so not looking forward to getting stabbed… im ok doing to other people but tend to get major peripheral shutdown when somebody comes near me with a needle.
do they know which chemo makes you sickest? eg im haveing 4 x epi so only one drug is that less likely to make me feel sick then cmf which in getting in a few months?
Lulu i scarpered out of hospitalk 5hrs after the op! My god i hate hospitals whichs is ironice seeins as i am a delivery floor midwife! Or i was before i had two babies back to back then got cancer! Rest of my life to go back tho and cant be too soon. Love it!
Sickness plays on my mind as if i am being physcially sick it will upset the girls-well evie, gracie too young. Evie was hysterical when i got a stomach bug and my OH couldnt get home from work early! She ran behind me everytime saying “oh dear”. Bless.

I have found nibbling ginger biscuits helps, someone also said liquorice, but haven’t tried it. Crackers also good.
Hope you are all ok and managing to keep something down, do ring for advice though!

HI,Sue i am 42 still older than you…but start feeling old with all this…i really feel that is so wrong young people having CA -not been horrible to old once BUT they had their life …i relly feel for all this women here finding their lumps while they breastfeed is not fair…they have to enjoy they children and be with them till they grow up…i had mine late in life …but didnt expect to have that now…i know noone does…My Daniel was upset because mum-mum cant play with him and they can sence the change in you…so i hoope you get your mum to help you as well as you are lucky to have her…enjoy your 2 weeks healthy life …speak to you soon…Christina

It is depressing isnt it having BC at any age. I agree it is probably harder with small children because you cant just go an rest. Its hard enough when i have a cold! Evie shouts up the stairs if i try to rest!
Hope tonight doesnt bring any surprises SE wise.

HI,Sue i havent ben sick since but the feeling is there so didnt had proper food just nibbling crackers,toast some cheese and complan so not feel energetic today my husb is here so Daniel goes with him out i am not able to do it …it is hard with little ones i am thinking when husb goes to work again sunday i will be with Daniel for 3 days till he comes back.i am hooping that i will be better tomm…oh and the constipation is bad after the antisickness tabl…Christina

had my 1st FEC yesterday, at 2.30pm started being sick at 11.30pm and it kept up all night! feeling really rubbish, puke pills dont seem to help but Im just sipping hot ginger drink and water biscuits with marmite and they dont seem to be causing too much trouble yet!! i hate throwing up, still its first day after 1st dose and all in all i dont feel too bad bit lethargic, but at least Ive stepped forward into getting this b****r out of my system completely!

Just caught up with the chat about wigs. Mine looks similar to Evie2007’s and (she) is called Hazelnut Divine. OH says it sounds like a porn star.
Seriously, though they are very good. I think it’s great that I can slip it on and instantly look like I’ve just been to the salon and spent a fortune. Not only that but it doesn’t get messed up with the wind and rain. I could never achieve that with my own hair. 2 mins out of the salon and it was a frizzy mess!
Maybe we should have a fashion shoot to take some of the fear out of the hair loss bit for newly diagnosed ladies?
