Christina and Debs. glad your both doing ok after your 1st tax…im still feeling quiet tired and its day 13 now for me.
Can anyone else whos had it tell me if they stilll felt tired at this stage.apart from that am ok

Days 10 to 14 usual are days that the blood wbc goes down, on my 3 rd tax day 11 wbc were low as 1.4 , borderline : 4.4
even i had some fever for 2 days which my onco treated with antibiotics…
than next week without granocyte or neopogen injection
they raise to 6 again,just the body recovering steps…
I think you might be feeling weak or tired because of this ıssue.
But of course each of us could give different reactions too.
I hope you will feel soon better

sally i too feel more tierd this week than last, mouth still not quite right taste wise, so i think its normal because count will be lower this week,
debs and kristina yes you may feel like we did a few days after treatment, but take the painkillers cand rest and you will be fine,
pauline im all packed ready for the off tommorrow, but am going to see u2 tonite so am just sticking my wig on ,

Julie, use lots of wiggy tape, it’s extremly windy. would’nt like you to loose wig before weekend, mind you there arn’t may bald women in skeg so you would be easy to recognise lol

I am day 8 now now and just about getting there. I am extreamly tied and dropped the sickness tabs this morning but had to go back on them because guess what nausia kicked in. Still taking the pain killers so no problems with that SE.

thanks for the response regarding the tiredness its very reasuring to know that its normal cos when i sit here on my own my mind starts wondering if im really ok but now i know its normal i feel alot better.

Day 9 Not feeling too bad. still got a rabbits bottom mouth. Thought i didn’t need ibuprofen anymore so dropped them off yesterday and guess wot had pains in legs all night. Had to get up at 4am for tablets. It’s hard to know when to drop the tablets off, that is why i keepa diary off all SE and tablets taken. Hopefully using this i won’t drop them off too soon next time.
Debs your day 4 so i imagine we won’t hear much from you in the next few days, take care and we are all with you.
Julie and sally, you must be starting to feel good now, just in time for friday again, never ending is it.

very very dry mouth , like i slept on a room with dusty and hot
air, it was quite difficult to swallow when i wake up, started the day with lots of fluid and watermelon, i hope it goes away.
I am also going for a sea sidesmall holliday this Sunday, i hope …

Rabbits bottom mouth? - yep, know exactly what you mean! Do you find tastes keep changing? I was doing great on tea - my favourite drink after wine - but now it tastes foul, haven’t tried wine for about 10 days, maybe tonight - can’t remember when I was wineless for so long!
It’s weird when you eat something, expecting it to taste a certain way but doesn’t, makes you wary of putting things in your mouth!
By my tone, it will be obvious I’m feeling tons better, (now on day 10 after first TAC) have put back on a couple of pounds (I lost 7), just feel “extremely fatigued” and bit wobbly on the feet but getting around doing bits and bobs round the house. Hope to go to work next week. Might even get out of the house over the weekend!
My grandaughter (9) spent the day with me yesterday, she wore my wig and practised doing turbans on me - hilarious! Lot of hair came out in the shower this morning, blocked the plughole!, but my nails are longer and stronger than they’ve ever been - how perverse is that?

mouth still abit yucky,furry etc
tastebuds still not quiet right. but chatted to a lady i met in hospital who been through it all and guess what ladies our taste buds may not come back fully until after the tax’s are done…oh deep joy…i had chicken on sunday and it tasted really bitter but carrots tasted lovely.
still feeling weary, skin dry again.
i find im having to wear my glasses more, used to when thm just for on here but find i need them for watching tv etc…but that may just be old age creeping in lol
got letter today i start rads on 30th sep…only have last tax on the 18th…oh well i’l just fall asleep while there doing it.lol

Hi,girls i better let you know that i am still whole as no bus around -he,he i wonder if that is good or bad…anyway stabing myself with neupogen for the blood count hoping that wont visit hospital…not too bad…my taste is not bad as with FEC also my sickness is nil compare to fec-so no antisickness tabl- we are so different i do feel tired i dont take yet the codeine for bone pains…havent got any at mo…Julie M and Pauline have good time together…Debs how are you?Sally you are very close to the end now…only after friday will be one left.Rads is coming soon as well do you have to travel far to hosp for that?..i wish you all very good weekend …Christina

im lucky as the hopsital is about 20 mins away and im having them at 9 in the morning so at least they are over with and the days nt waisted
just driven to OH in Manchester and feel abit weary now but will be ok,just lolling on his sofa at mo

Christina how are you? well side effects kicked in on thurs night 2 days after tax, since then been very achy, terrible stomach pains and up to the loo at all hours and an itchy rash!!
hope fully all will go soon!!!

Hi Ladies Christina glad your feeling better I also had less side effects on tax just got more infections ect , I to am feeling stronger and have been out over weekend calcium tabs must be helping just finding now I seem to be getting pins and needles in hands and feet I have been told this could be se from tax just strange how it has come on now …
Sally youl be over taking me at this rate my rads have been delayed till I feeling stronger so good on you the sooner its over the better
Hope the girls I having a good weekend wish we were all there with them .
My daugther always puts my wigs on too she is 6 going on 16 it always makes up laugh …

I dont know if its tax or the steroids, i had a nervous breakdown,
i cried, felt very down and very terrified abt the future …
I think i need a break, so i am going away with my Sister tomorrow
for a week…
The rst is fine, i guess, no fever , no aches some swollen ankles …

thanks laura good to know its not just me! im not having injections so it must be the tax. Called the hospital as i have been on the loo so much today and last night, opposite effect to fec!! they said take immodium and keep drinking!!

your lucky no inj my onc wouldnt let me stop mine said bone marrow gets to tired on tax i hate them.god i had so many pains on tax and nerve pains cldnt hardly walk im on day 13 now and first day ive felt normal so we do get there just takes longer on this i think i feal this is a lot harder to get over ive had nose bleeds on this never had them on fec i rung unit that didnt seam bothered told me to phone gp!! im sure they all dont go by the same sheeet but a no point moaning lol hope u all get well sn laura xx
Dear turkish delight,
It’s the steroids. It normally happens on day 2 after stopping the steroids. Don’t worry about it, just have a good cry and it will soon be over. Just expect it to happen again each time you stop the steroids and it won’t be such a worry.
