After a macrodochectomy (removal of milk ducts)

I had surgery 6 days ago to remove one or several (or all) of the milk duct(s) from my left breast.
Surgery went fine and I was fine till today when I removed the clear waterproof plaster. Though I was very gentle, the plaster removed some of the skin in the nipple that has started to scar I think (next to the incision/stiches), and left me with raw skin which has been a bit worrisome and painful.

I will try to get an appointment with the nurse at my local health centre tomorrow to have the wound checked out, and to see if she/he can give me something to ensure the area doesn’t get infected, etc.

But in case I can’t get an appointment I wanted to ask here as well. My nipple has some very dark red areas in it (dried up blood colour). It’d from the inside, not the outside. I would imagine that when the milk duct(s) was/were removed, it would have caused some bleeding inside, so I am assuming it is normal colouration.

But can anyone confirm this is normal ? If so, will the colouration eventually disappear to return to a more normal colour ?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies back.
