After the treatment

Hi Ladies
I’m TNBC and I’ve been scanning the internet of what I can do after the treatment of Chemo and RADs to help reduce the chance of it coming back.
I’ve looked at Aspirin…which I see some people take…I’m now looking at the different Vitamins. Alot of people mention Vitamin D and Calcium. Anyone else taken this after on TNBC and found them helpful???
I’ve recently bought Cancer Fighting Kitchen and One bite at a time, really helpful advise…
Welcome any further info

Bumping this up for Teresa

Hi Teresa, I am a year out of treatment and touch wood things this seem to be ok. I have been taking vitamin d3, curcumin tablets and eating loads of kale and broccoli. I drink at least five cups of green tea a day too. I have also lost 2 stone and I either go to the gym where I run, cycle, row and go on the cross trainer 3 times a week, swim twice a week and go to pilates once a week. I also walk my dog at least 5 miles a day. I would love to be able to take aspirin but unfortunately I have an allergy to it. With all the recent research indicating that aspirin looks very promising in preventing a recurrence I would definately be taking it, but make sure it is enteric coated to protect he stomach.I also eat 3 brazil nuts a day to make sure I am getting enough selenium.

Hi Teresa
I have just finished my treatment for TNBC, WLE, SNB clear, FECx6 plus 15 rads. I also take Vit D3 combined with calcium and magnesium, Vit B for energy , plus other things to help with joint pain at present. I am considering aspirin too and have cut back on high fat foods . I don’t eat red meat, and rarely drink alcohol. I try and have plenty of fruit and veg, have some green tea each day and am back to walking my dog although my energy levels are not good as yet. I can recommend a book called ‘Surviving Triple Negative Breast Cancer’ by Patricia Prijatel, who at the time of writing was 5 years post dx. It is an American book so treatment regimes differ from ours, but encouraging to read. All we can do is the best for us, and not feel guilty if we can’t always stick to our plan! At this early stage we need to recover physically and emotionally and be kind to ourselves and those who have supported us.
take care.

Thank you ladies, some great tips and info.
Once I finish my chemo and Rads, I think I will try the aspirin, low dose of course.
Green tea seems to be very popular too, have already started that one.
Diet and exercise seem to be the way forward, will be looking into what changes to make to my life style for the future.
Thanks again for the info on vitamins etc , and stay strong
