Age or Education

Two things today have shocked me today…
Hubby works with sport and classic cars and today was viewing a Ferrarri when one of the young mechanics came out and said" They produce some lovely things in Italy" My husband replied " Yes Sophia Loren for one !" The mechanic replied" What sort of car is that then?" Hubby was speechless.

Secondly a workmate ( about 26) came to see me today and on leaving noticed the fruit bowl in my kitchen , in which I has pears and pomegranates. She looked and said " What are they?" They’re pomegranates I said. She thought they were onions and had never seen one, so after giving her one to try and with eating instructions I sent her on her way.
Is it an age thing?

Norma ( speechless for once )

Normski

Education, kids’ parents think it’s up to school to tell them everything and half the time the parents wouldn’t know an onion from a pomegranate.

More than once, at Sainsbury’s, I have had to tell the checkout person what it is they are weighing, type of pears, celeriac to name but two.

I know where my food comes from and I know whose assassination “sparked” WWI, they don’t tell kids things like that these days.

O I know that. 'Twas Franz Ferdinand, and I’ve just turned 28! Ha ha! Although, ask any youngster today and they would say that Franz Ferdinand is a scottish band!
