All Positives !

When we talk about the markers being positive or negative , is it common for all to be positive ?
Iam ER+ ,PR++, HER2+ , then P53- which i have no idea about .
Is this the usual way that it presents itself .My onc mentioned nothing about it to me . I understand what the ER , PR and HER mean but I did´nt realise that they could all be positive .

Hi jackwagstaff

I have posted the link to the BCC publication called ‘Understanding your pathology’ which you may find helpful:

I am ER, PR and HER2 + but I have no idea whether it is common or not.

I think some places don’t test for PR if you are found to be ER+, as the treatment is the same.

Funny, my parents have known every detail about this from the start, and I have a blog they look at too, but my dad today didn’t realise what the Herceptin was for or why I needed that AND Tamoxifen (Herceptin tackles the HER2, Tamoxifen sorts out the oestrogen and progestrone). I have enlightened him!

Hi there,

I’m also triple positive and have come across a lot of other ladies who are also triple positive. In fact I’ve just read on Linda Nolans webpage that she is taking Tamoxifen and had Herceptin which would indicate she is also ER+ and HER2+ - not sure about the PR status.
