Hi everyone,
been ages since I posted on here. I developed a rash on mastectomy scar a month ago. now it has spread to R arm and chest. It looks like it has affected anywhere that touches my prosthesis. Looking at the prosthsis it is 3 yrs old and looks a bit ropey so I’m thinking it could be because of this. I wondered if anyone else has become allergic to the sillicon and if so what did you do?

hi its funny u shld say that i have a rash i though was my dog!! as it is now 3 yrs old why dont u take it back a get a new one i was told i can change mine and wld be no time limit sorry cant be much more use tc
Hi karelyn,
It sounds very suspicious that it occurs where your prosthesis makes contact but I do think you should let your bcn/onc take a look at it to be sure. Have you recently had a CT with contrast dye? I ask because I am allergic to it and used to get a rash in the area originally covered by radiotherapy.
The hospital I get my prosthesis from allow me replacements every 2 years.
