Am i doing right thing?

I had breast cancer feb 2009 have left mastectomy and nodes removed 3/20 positive.hormone-receptor-positive had chemo/radio and on Tamoxifen joys of hot flushes.Im still having very heavy periods and be told would be best if i was in Menopause.had blood test got score 35 plus i scored 7 years away from menopause im 47.Now due to have removal of the ovaries during hysterectomy.I could just go for key hole ovaries out but say in 5 plus years that becomes cancer am i best just have it all out.Plus my bones hurt had bone scan 1 rib and bit of skull highlighted. putting down to fracture? no falls being rescaned aug am now worried gone to my bones.ive be told its unlikly? as there would be more areas shown up?.hope so im due for my 2nd year mammogram fingers crossed. Hi, I am a bit confused. Why do they think you need your ovaries out ? why the hysterectomy ?
I had my ovaries out because I have the brca1 mutation, had it by key hole surgery, but I didn’t have a hysterectomy. You can read the rest of my bc problems on my profile.

hi sorry about my post it is bit mixed lol.Im positive hormone and still having very heavy periods.and cancer team feel i be best in my menopause but blood test showed im years away.So i and doc think best have a hysterectomy plus ovaries out.Jane

If you are happy then go for it, but I would have thought there might be a more gentle way to become menopausal, like zolodex injections, not that they are very nice. But I am no expert.

Thanks for reply with that treatment it could go on for years.Im going in on fri 18th feb.My main worrie is my bones but im staying positive and await my rescan in aug jane

I learnt early on in this journey that if it feels right it probably is. There is loads of research to support the view that if we don’t think it will work it won’t and vice versa. Put your heart into your decision and know its right! Lots of love T XX

Just to add, I had zoledex and its pretty awful. I am sure your bones are ok, they usually know pretty certainly straight away, they would want to treat you and not leave it, don’t worry sure its fine. Go back and ask again if you are unhappy they won’t mind lots love T x

Oh dear have found a lump in my other breast. ahh and to top it all my daughters on her way to gp she found 4 lumps ahhh she only 24 a worried jane x

Daughter just rang her gp said she just has lumpy breast? i think she should see another gp ahh Jane

Have had hysterectomy and on my 6 week check i been told my results are not back.So awaiting them plus i have a tilted cervix and some has been left in aahhh.May need to still have smear tests. Jane

And still waiting results have now contacted pals x

Had phone call ref results no cancer found BUT was pre cancer cells which would gone on to cancer.So happy i had it done xx

Dont belive it as a small amount of cervix was left in as to deep and tilted get it all.I now have to still have smears ahhh.

My ribs are getting so painfull daily need rest more on the bed.getting worried with aug bone scan.last year was 1 rib and skull high lighted.Plus getting lot of sharp eye pain. just had eye tested all ok will now need go see my gp.oh joys seems breast cancer never ends.jane
