You’re absolutely right, Morgan about disposition prior to diagnosis with bc, at least in my case! My family has described me as a ‘dog with a bone’ when I need to find out things, and I won’t let go till I do!
Learning about our disease does give us some measure of control over it, albeit to a minor degree.
Have yet to find out about procedure once all treatment is complete. Suspect it will be minimal.

How did you get your chance of recurrence from adjuvant online? I thought only a health professional was able to do this, or did your onc do it for you?

As someone told me - don’t go on there unless you really want to see your statistics - there something quite scary about seeing them in black and white - or green, yellow, red and blue. You can type in grade, tumour size etc - nothing for HER2 status yet. My oncologist who I now have a good relationship with - knows that I go and look on adjuvant online. She has spoken to the people involved with it and they reckon to multiply your stats by 1.5 to bring in the HER2 factor. i.e. a 10% chance of recurrence would become 15%. This works ok unless you have a bad prognosis where a 70% chance of recurrence would become 105% - can’t be that. I’m not sure that they have worked out what to do for all cases yet. Your prognosis would probably be similar to mine so the mulitplying by 1.5 would probably give you some sort of indication.

Hi Alison Welcome to the site…I think this is your first post…Thanks for reference to this book…I’m an information seeker and this is something I’d not come across though a search on amazon shows its £29,great reviews…but still £29 so I might order it from the library!
