I had a mastectomy and full node clearance last week. I am awaiting the results but am scared to death that i am now triple negative on top of everything else. I already know i am HER2 negative and hormone negative(words of consultant when diagnosed). Does this conclude that i am TN? When will I know? Not knowing things is just torture. X

Sorry you are feeling so stressed. They can tell if you are hormone receptor negative from the biopsy, but they have wait to examine the whole tumour to know if you are her2 positive. They normally have these results about 10 days after the op and they are given at your follow up app. I hope you get to talk to someone soon. I was in the same position as you, mine turned out to be her2 pos, and I phoned the help line to discuss my worries. Debx
Hi. Thank you for responding. I can only assume that i am TN then cause after biopsy he said I was hormone negative and a couple of weeks later the BCN said i was HER2 negative. No one has ever said that I am but i guess that will now come at the results meeting. Life just gets better. Not!!! X
