Amoena Life Catalogue - hot flushes
Amoena Life Catalogue - hot flushes Hi, just thought I’d let you know about a catalogue my Breast Care nurse gave me at the start of all this when I was in hospital recovering from my mastectomy.
You can order it from Tel: 023 80270345.
For people with hot flushes, there are letters in the catalogue from people who have tried something called CLONIDINE. I have no experience of it , but as Im likely to be starting Tamoixfen soon, i am glad to know there
s something that my GP can prescribe that may help. Evidently it doesn`t contain oestrogen which is good for women like myself who are oe+.
Frances
Hello Frances I have just finished my 5 years on Tamoxifen at the age of 52 and am still pre-menopausal.
I have been taking Clonondine for nearly the whole time and can recommend taking it.
The dose is 2 tabs twice a day, but when I had both my sons weddings, 2004 & 2005 I stepped it up to 3 twice a day and it worked really well.
As I’m now off Tamoxifen I asked my GP what I should do and she said to wait a few months and then maybe try cutting down to see what happens. I’ve got this feeling that I’ll start my menopause soon, had a hysterectomy in 1997 so don’t have periods.
Love Sue
