An article you must read

Somewhere on this website I came across a reference to an article by Dr Peter Harvey, " After The Treatment Finishes- Then What?" Just google it.

I’ve started this thread here because although the article is aimed at people after treatment I think that it is well worth reading, whether or not you have just been diagnosed, undergoing treatment or are post treatment.

The article put a lot of things into perspective for me and I hope it does for everyone else out there. x

Awesome, Kilimanjaro:)

I agree it helps put things into perspective. Thank you for thinking of others

Thank you Kilananjaro. I finish treatment end of June. Think this ahould go on BCC website it is very useful. Thing is everyone expects us to just get back to normal and be glad we’re alive which we are. But we have been through alot and while we do get to smile again as treatment ends we are different women. Yes we are stronger cos we’ve had to have been and yes life doesnt get u down as much because you get very good at not being affected by everyday cares or moody people that may have got on ur nerves before. So there are positives to be gained. However all the inner strength we have had to summon up can leave you quite rxhausted both mentally and physically so its important to go easy on ourselves. Giving you all a hug x

Sat myself down yesterday afternoon and read this article…best thing I have done all week! I wish that all my close signifcant others would read it as it would help them to understand me and themselves in terms of what we have all been through and to some extent are still going through. It could possibly make the most wonderful basis for a workshop to be able to digest and discuss in detail…
