Hi ladies
I had a left side MX 12 June 2013 due to invasive DCIS grade 2, ER+. Had chemo and rads and started AI on 1 Jan 2014. I am now facing another MX due to significant changes in microcalcification in right side. Hopefully no other treatment than surgery necessary. Get results this Friday.
My question is, if I’ve had bilateral MX will I have to continue with Anastrazole? I’m having serious SEs and if there’s any chance at all I can stop taking it, I shall be extremely glad to.
Thanks in advance. xx
Hi hope you are feeling better with the side effects from Anastrozole. I have been taking it since Sept 2013 with minimal side effects at first but the last couple of weeks they have been a big annoyance, especially hot flushes and joint pain.
Their is something that does worry me a lot and that is your diagnosis is the same as mine apart from i had Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (not dcis) also it was stage 2, grade 2,ER+ and i had chemo and rads and AI. The only difference being that the possibility of having a MX was not discussed even though i had complete axillary clearance as well. I have read other posts from people with similar experiences that also have had mx and it scares the life out of me knowing that i had all my nodes removed as several were positive and the breast was left after 2 operations to try and remove the lump.
I see the Breast Team next month so i imagine i should really ask them at the risk of being given the evil eye for so much as daring to question them! Cheers, Michele x
