@littlebea it definitely can be overwhelming if you think about all the possible side effects. Just remember that every one reacts differently and hopefully you will be a lucky one. I have had lots of hot flushes with Anastrozole and it was suggested that acupuncture would help- only had one session so far but an amazing improvement .
Good luck
Hi, hope you’re getting on well with the anastrazole. I’m 41, been taking it nearly 3 months and ran my first 10km run last weekend! Sitting still is more painful on the joints for me, so as long as I keep moving I’m fine. I was considering tamoxifen but either way they want to keep me on menopause with the 12 weekly zoladex injections. If I can’t bear it I might switch but will have to give it a chance. For me it’s the night sweats (sheets soaked overnight) . Hope this helps. Also any advice for the soaked sheet problem!
@kaz4
Wow that’s so impressive, well done you.
I also find that I’m better for doing some type of movement each day, I enjoy yoga and my joints are much better afterwards.
Maybe there are some finger movements that could help even with the smallest joints.
Re hot sweats - I now have a fan next to my bed to move the air around and I don’t have any caffeine after 7pm instead I have a chamomile tea thats helped me. Also I have a single sheet under my duvet so I can flick the duvet over to my husband’s side of the bed. Not that he likes it
It really can become overwhelming for each of us along this journey, take it slow, I take each element as a mile stone and try not to think of it all together . Do keep talking it really helps having a safe place like this to say how you are feeling.
Sending you all lots of healing hugs for the weekend.
I have been on Anastrozole since May 24, I changed to it after 8 months on Letrozole as that was crippling me. Sadly, on Anastrozole I still have very stiff joints and walking is extremely tough.
Is anyone having severe heel pain, especially at night? It is so bad that I have almost resorted to crawling to the bathroom . It tends to improve a bit throughout the morning, and I have started to do the exercises recommended for plantar fasciitis in case that might help.
Just wondered if anyone else has found this and might have any helpful tips.
Thank you.
@kaz-4 and everyone, can i recommend two places for yoga videos/zoom classes that are designed to help us in our recovery.
Penny Brohn run classes over zoom, I always take the Monday relaxation class and the Friday Tai Chi class, there are also a couple of yoga sessions during the week and lots more. I’ve been taking them for the past month and they really are helping.
AnnSwanson Wellness on YouTube has a whole list of yoga and tai chi videos all of which are brilliant and there is at least one on hands.
Hope they help.
Love to everybody xx
Thx @nannabee , I’ll take a look.
@fran poor you, it’s sooo uncomfortable. I had something like that about 4yrs ago, way before I had cancer. I was told it was plantar fascia and it lasted a good few months and I had to completely change my foot wear, to shoes with big spongy soles, it was the only way I could walk comfortably. FitFlop became my best brand. It slowly eased until it finally disappeared! I often have to have my heels hanging off the end of the bed as they hurt if they are on the mattress ! It’s very strange .
I hope yours will disappear after your treatment concludes. Sending positive vibes.
Thank you! On the plus side hubby is looking forward to me not ramping up the heating all winter like I used to
