Sounds like your chemo is going to be simialr to mine although I am hormone positive.
Brief history - diagnosed 30th July from core biopsy grade 1 idc, wle and snb august - 30mm grade 3 idc and dcis (no clear margins from dcis) and lymph node positive. End sept - mastectomy with immed. recon and total aux. clearance - they took 28 lymph nodes - 11 affected - also found another area of idc 1.5 mm quite away from orginal - this did not show on any scans - etc.
Starting 3 FEC tomorrow, then 3 tax, then 6 weeks rads.
Hopefully we can support each other through this c… time.
I am 40 by the way with two children 5 and 3. To be honest - they make me more positive.
Look forward to chattting
I’m so sorry, I don’t know why I didn’t see this message from you.
I really hope your FEC went ok. I’m glad you opted for the mast…it’s worrying isn’t it when small areas of c do not show on the scan…I had one of those about 1mm. I also had 3 other small areas - the largest I think was around 15mm, so mastectomy definately the right choice, however there were insufficient margins with one of the lumps so another worry.
The children are a great distraction aren’t they…do you have any help at home? My mum has come to stay so I am really, really lucky, and my hubby is also really good. Do you have girls/boys?
I am so scared about the chemo, worried that I just won’t be able to cope. I had an awful time with sickness during pregnancy and felt really weak and anaemic most of the time!
Whereabouts in the country are you (you don’t need to be specific).
Anyway, i hope you manage to enjoy some of the weekend.
1st chemo was nowwhere as bad as I thought. Miminal feeling sick - feel very tired and my mouth is foul. All drinks taste yuk - food ok though - athough can not prepare it. Whether I have more side effects to come - willhave to see. I am having 3 fec and 3 tax.
I live in South East and the children are a 5 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. How old are your children?
When do you start your chem?
Just come back from the park - weather beautiful. Just off for a rest now.
I’m in the SE as well, 8 yr old and 5 yr old girls and 15 month boy. I start chemo next weds - oh my god…not looking forward to it but just want to kill all those nasties. Did you try the cold cap? Do you have anyone at home to help? I think getting the first one out the way will be a big milestone. Is it a bit like morning sickness when you are really tired and the sight of food makes you really nauseas and sick? What anti sickness tablet did you have?
Anyway, enough questions. Soooo please you have been able to enjoy some of the nice weather and hope you have a good rest.
