Annual Leave when on Sick Leave

Hello Ladies

I have been on sick leave for some months and my annual leave year will shortly end.  I have untaken annual leave, which I would prefer not to lose.  My contract of employment doesn’t specify what should happen in the event that you are on sick leave and accrued annual leave isn’t taken by the end of your annual leave year.

I have had a look online to try to clarify the position.  I have found this from 2012 acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3868.  I am just emailing my boss and I wanted to know if that position is still the case so I can say that my AL should roll forward - but I just want to be sure.  Can anyone confirm?

Many thanks.

Hi . Where I work it carries over which is only fair . I would imagine it should be same for you . Fingers crossed xx

Yes I agree it should roll over as you shouldn’t be disadvantages by being sick you should also query any bank holiday days that feel during your absence as these should be also be added to your untaken leave
