anxious again

Dear All

I have an ultrasound next wednesday, half way through chemo and they want to check sgrinkage and decide if they are staying with FEC or moving to something else. I am ok with that i think, although thought of taxotre is yuck.

Got a letter through the post today for a ct scan chest and pelvis on the 6th November. When i had a scan pre chemo i had what they thought was a benign nodule 2.5mm in my lung. They thought it was nothing to worry about, 2 radiologists had reviewed it and both though likely benign but couldnt say 100 percent and it was too small to boipsy.

I thought they were going to do the scan at the end of the chemo but this would be after my fourth and despite the fact i have pushed it to the back of my mind i am now really anxious about it. What do they hope the scan will show, no change i assume.

Don’t quite know how i am going to keep it at the back of my mind until 6th November.

Sorry for the moan. Off to take the children to gymnastics.

Take care all

Lesley

Easy for us to say try and put it to the back of your mind - I would be the same as you. The CT scan will just give them more detailed information - and maybe you just got the first available date from the people who deal with the scan appointments so try not to worry.

Hope you enjoyed gymnastics - altho I am sure your mind was not on it.

You know you can moan on here any time you like - it helps us all

Take care

Dear Lesley

You may remember our previous posts… I have a “lesion” on my lung which I had shoved to the back of my mind until I had my CT scan midway through chemo and was desperately worried about it the nearer the date came.

The scan showed that the “lesion” is stable, which according to my oncologist is great news and he’s more than 99% sure it’s a scar or benign lesion of some sort.

The relief was so incredible I didn’t even mind that they told me that I need a mastectomy instead of a lumpectomy.

I really sincerely hope you hear the same news, there is every chance you will… My oncologist told me right at the beginning that a large percentage of people around my age (47) have some kind of lung scarring which is caused by anything from a severe cough to TB as a youngster.

So very good luck, hope it all works out well for you.
