Anxious waiting

Hi Everyone
After my first biopsy result, I was told its High grade DCIS, I was told I would need another biopsy to check a different area, however when I went for my appointment this week, the Consultant asked if I could tolerate 2 more biopsies as she saw another area that they wanted to check. I managed to have two further biopsies, has anyone else had something similar? Just anxious for the results now x

Hello, I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis and subsequent biopsies. I was also initially diagnosed with HIgh grade DCIS, but mine was only in the one area ( although after the pathology results, they did unfortunately discover IDC, only a tiny one). I just think that it is good to have other suspect areas looked at straight away, then if there is more, your treatment plan will include all areas of concern. I know there are ladies on this forum, who have had multi-focal areas of DCIS or other tumours, so it is not terribly uncommon, so I wouldn’t worry too much. Good luck with everything. You can message the nurses on this forum and ask questions as well.

Thank you xx

Dear Mitch 2 so sorry to read you post, I agree with @bellbert everyone has different results and treatment, but do take advice from your breast cancer nurse who is there to support you when needed, she has all your notes to hand.

I do wish you well with happiness ahead, please let us know how your getting on.

Hugs Tili :pray::rainbow::pray::rainbow:

When I received my biopsy results (dcis), the Prof said there was another area that they wanted to look at, which meant more biopsies and more anxiously waiting for the results. Luckily that other area was ok.
Had my wle in July, and results last week, they got clear margins.
