Any information greatly appreciated

I have not been feeling quite right for about four months. My lymph node behind my left ear has been slightly swollen and does not appear to ever go down. My left breast has a small red mark on it and has been there for about six months. my left armpit all the way down to my breast has been pretty sore. went to my family doctor he ordered a mammo and then the radiologist sent me for an ultra sound. He felt there was a cyst there and said since I had no previous mammo to compare it to to come back in six months. that was three weeks ago. since then the pain under my arm leading to my breast is worst and my chest feels really heavy all the time and I often have shortness of breath. I was wondering if anyone else had any of these problems. I am from the US so please excuse my wording. I have found this site to be one of the most helpful on the net.

Hi Vanhy4

I think you know the answer - go back to your doctor!

We can all offer sympathy and support but we’re not medically trained - you may be worrying about nothing - but you have to make absolutely sure before you wait too long for it to be discovered that you were right for worrying!

Hi Vanhy4! I’m from the US, but live in Scotland now.

I think you really do need to see your doctor again. There are a lot of things this could be, even if it isn’t BC. It could be some sort of infection that the right drugs would clear up and you wouldn’t be in pain and discomfort anymore. Please phone and make an appointment. Good luck!

Try going to a different doctor at the same practice, if there is more than one.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I called my Primary doctor and he agreed to see me today. Should I just come out and tell him I want a FNA done? I am usually a person that puts health problems off to the side because I am busy with my children with school, soccer, and basketball but this time considering all the symptoms I am very concerned. God bless to all!

Hi Vanhy4

Things are done a bit different over here (as you probably know!) and we have (usually) a mammogram, FNA and ultrasound as part and parcel of whether breast cancer is present. So I think I would ask for an FNA to be done.

Good luck and hope you’re okay.

Hi Pinkdove, thanks for your reply. I went to my doctor and was told there were six cysts in my left breast so it would be nearly impossible to get them all. After I had my US I was only told about one cyst. He felt that because I have large breasts the pain in my breast and arm were due to that, although I reminded him that I have had this same pair many years and have never had any pain. His solution was to send me to a plastic surgeon for a reduction and in the process the cysts could be looked at, I have this consultation appt the 29th. Does this sound normal to to anyone? Thanks to all for your help.
