Any labour ward midwives out there?

Having now had seven months of slashing and poisoning with just the burning to go (start 24th July for 20 sessions) - I am beginning to think about my return to work - scheduled for 1st October.

Having been off throughout the duration I am naturally starting to contemplate what it will be like for me once I return to work. I am a full time senior midwife working on a busy labour ward with daily responsibility for co-ordinating the unit. Just wondering if anybody has been in a similar situation and, if you have, how you have found your return.

Obviously worried about the implications of lymphoedema, physical activity etc.

Would gratefully receive any comments from anybody who has been in my situation.

Many thanks.
